History

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. It was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882, and it was named in honor of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus.

Members

As of September, 2017, there were more than 15,000 councils and approximately, 2 million members around the world. The good works of the organization are centered on the core principals of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
